Why belong to LawVision’s Legal Project Management Roundtable?
Our Legal Project Management (LPM) Roundtable is the only organization dedicated solely to the professional development of the legal project management role and the sharing of best practices to help LPM professionals enhance their firm’s performance. Members gain insight from LawVision consultants who have experience helping dozens of major firms with their LPM initiatives. All discussions are confidential to the Roundtable members.
Professional Development: Professional training and development are crucial for most law firms. Many of your firm’s other professionals belong to groups that provide training for non-legal roles, such as the Legal Marketing Association and the Professional Development Consortium. Similarly, this Roundtable also offers regular training and education for LPM professionals, supporting the essential contributions these critical roles make to the continued profitability and success of your firm.
Sharing of Best Practices: Roundtable members frequently tell us they highly value sharing best practices gleaned from the real-life implementation of LPM programs and tools. The Roundtable aims to bring together individuals in similar roles to share ideas and experiences in their positions, participate in interactive presentations led by guest speakers, and discuss the “best practices” their firms are implementing. Click here for recent meeting agendas. Topics of interest covered recently include:
- LPM tools and technologies
- Emotional intelligence skills – including communication, persuasion, and more
- Change management
- Client-facing issues and opportunities
- ROI on legal project management initiatives
- Driving and measuring lawyer adoption, and
- Case studies of law firms and law departments’ implementation of LPM.
Ideas You Can Leverage in Your Firm: Besides the gems of information from others who have been there and done that, you will also benefit from:
- Meeting materials and handouts, including speaker presentations
- Access to the LPM Roundtable member portal, including past meeting materials and recordings
- Between meetings, members communicate using our private LPM Roundtable LinkedIn group.
Peer Networking Opportunities: During each session, attendees can build their professional network. The break-out sessions allow one to meet others in similar roles while sharing ideas, challenges, and approaches. You will learn as much from what works as you do from what does not.
Meeting Format:
- One hybrid meeting (offering in-person and virtual participation): A full-day meeting with a reception
- Three virtual meetings: These will continue in the format used during the pandemic and allow participation without the cost of travel
- Core content-focused meetings: Each meeting will have a primary focus, such as the topics suggested above. Breakout discussions will be a mix of problem-solving, topic-based, and role-based discussions.
- LPM Bootcamp for those new to LPM roles: This will be a separate session with “veteran” LPMs sharing tips for success with those new to the roles.
- Unlimited firm/team member attendance: Each firm’s membership dues permit every firm/team member to attend each virtual meeting, and up to two members can attend in person. Contact Program & Roundtable Director Eva Booth at eva.booth@lawvision.com for more information if you want to join or update current members.
- Global learning and networking: Each session offers two virtual meeting times to benefit our members and provide international exposure at each session. Members from North America, the United Kingdom, Europe, EMEA, and Australia participate. The LPM Roundtable will continue to have virtual meetings that span regions. You can share with global LPM leaders, select the timing that fits your schedule, or participate in both sessions for additional international exposure.
All meetings will be designed to include facilitated conversations based on topics suggested by the members. Many in-person/hybrid meetings will include a professional development segment to be presented by a well-known authority on relevant topics for the members’ roles. Meetings also include “Roundtable sharing” among members on issues of specific interest to the members. The hybrid roundtable meetings will be one day, plus a reception either the night before or after the meeting. The Legal Project Management Roundtable hybrid meeting meets on a consecutive day with the Legal Pricing Roundtable hybrid meeting, and the two groups have the reception together. There is a significant overlap in membership between the two groups.
